KULT. was never meant to be just a coffee shop in Gosforth. It was always meant to be something more.
For years, I did what most people would probably call the sensible thing. I had a secure career, managed community facilities, and spent my time helping other people bring their ideas to life.
But there was always a part of me that wanted to build something of my own.
Eventually I realised there isn’t a perfect time to take a risk. You either keep waiting, or you jump.
So I did.
Walking into an empty shell of a building on the high street in Gosforth after signing the lease was one of the most exciting (and terrifying) moments of my life. There were plenty of sleepless nights, more unexpected bills than I care to remember, and countless moments where I questioned whether I’d completely lost the plot.

But every challenge became part of the story.
From painting walls and building furniture to serving our very first coffees, KULT. has been built with a lot of hard work, a bit of stubbornness, and the support of an incredible community here in Gosforth.
A Coffee Shop in Gosforth Built by the Community
Today, KULT. is a coffee shop in Gosforth that’s about much more than caffeine. It’s somewhere to work, catch up with friends, hold meetings, discover local artists, attend events, or simply take a break from a busy day. We wanted to create a space that felt welcoming, creative and a little different from the norm.

Pop in any day of the week to explore our full menu of coffee, matcha and more.
We’re still learning, still improving, and still full of ideas. If anything, this is only the beginning.
Thank you to everyone who’s walked through our doors, shared a coffee, supported us online, or simply believed in what we’re trying to build. You’re a huge part of this journey, and we can’t wait to see where it takes us next.
